Barcelona is ready to offer £40 million to get Mason Greenwood, who wears Lionel Messi’s famous No. 10 shirt.
After going on loan to La Liga club Getafe, Greenwood, a forward for Manchester United, is getting a lot of attention in Spanish football.
They are now eighth in the table thanks to Greenwood’s five goals and four helpers. He is 22 years old.
Barça is planning a £40 million bid for him, which includes that famous No. 10 shirt. Getafe wants to sign him forever.
Messi, an eight-time Ballon d’Or winner and Argentine World Cup star left Barcelona in August 2021 and Ansu Fati took his place.
However, it hasn’t had an owner since Fati moved to Brighton on loan in September of this year.
Barcelona now hopes to utilize it to help Greenwood—who was born in Bradford—join the Nou Camp and form a stunning new squad.
Greenwood is resuming his career after determining it was time to part ways with United.
Prior to their dismissal in February, the striker was charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault causing actual bodily harm.
Even though United did their study, they were ready to have him back on the team.
He changed his mind about that plan in August after people spoke out against it, and he left for Getafe without having played in 18 months.
There is still a chance that Greenwood will come back to United, but it is not possible.
