During his playing career, Jurgen Klopp was not the most skilled football player.
Despite never competing in Germany’s top division, he scored 56 goals in 340 games for Mainz while playing as a striker and later as a central defender.
Klopp was asked in an interview with a Berlin newspaper in 2008 why he had never made it to the Bundesliga as a player.
He replied: “I had fourth-division feet and a first-division head.”
However, 56-year-old Klopp showed off some pretty slick skills with his feet at Liverpool’s training ground this week.
Footage of Klopp and three members of his coaching staff volleying the ball to each other was shared by Liverpool’s social media team.
A 19-second video showed Klopp – who is now in his ninth season as Liverpool manager – completing consecutive passes using the heel of his right boot.
When Klopp realized that his fancy footwork had been caught on camera he celebrated by waving his fist in the air and cheering.
