Manchester United player Mason Mount has been spreading festive cheer at a local assisted living facility.
On Thursday, Mount surprised the residents of Timperley Nursing Home by joining them for an early Christmas meal.
The number seven for United is expected to return from injury in January, so he was looking forward to spending his leisure time at the dinner and getting to know the other patrons, some of whom had been football fans their entire lives.
When Mason and his brother arrived at the Kingsley Healthcare Home, 102-year-old Rita Smith was ready to greet them. Mason’s visit was a surprise for everyone.
They pulled out crackers to kick off the celebration and sat down with the residents to have a roast meal and exchange stories and jokes.
Earlier this week, Mount and his Reds colleagues attended the 34th annual dinner held at Old Trafford by the Manchester United Disabled Supporters’ Association. Another holiday party afternoon was quite special.
Erik ten Hag’s players have also enjoyed presenting presents to young supporters. Our women’s team recently had the opportunity to visit with some really motivating patients at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
