Mason Greenwood wore special never-before-seen multicoloured Nike boots for Getafe against Espanyol, despite not having a sponsorship deal.

No longer having a sponsorship deal, the English striker has maximum freedom on the boots choice, tonight chose to wear this very limited model launched in 2016 that celebrated the first 18 years of history of the most iconic Nike football boots.

Nike confirmed earlier this year that they do not have a sponsorship deal with the forward, after they cut ties in February 2022 following his arrest on suspicion of attempted rɑpe, ɑssault and coercive behaviour.

Those allegations were later dropped, allowing Greenwood to return to football, but there is no tie between the sportswear conglomerate and the former England international.

Greenwood has been an important member of Getafe’s squad all season, and the team is now gearing up for the next round of cup action.

The striker scored twice in a 12-0 win over CF Tardienta in the first round of the Copa del Rey. In La Liga, the Manchester United loanee has also scored three goals. Despite being sent off against Rayo Vallecano, he was able to play in the Copa del Rey round of 32 encounter on Saturday since the red card was later reversed.
