Respect for one another was evident when Scotland’s two most well-known athletes, Andy Robertson and Bob MacIntyre, first met in Dubai.
Golfing in Dubai were Robertson, Milner, and Oxlade-Chamberlain.
The two met in the back of the Emirates Golf Club practice area following their participation in the first of two pro-ams leading up to this week’s Slync.io Dubai Desert Classic.
Liverpool’s left-back Had Robertson not committed to a day on the golf course so late in the English Premier League’s mid-winter break, he might have been in the same group as his countryman on the Majlis Course.
Rather, he paired up with former Masters victor Charl Schwartzel, James Milner, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, two of his Anfield teammates.

“It’s not normal to get an opportunity like this, especially the international players as we are normally busy during any breaks,” Robertson said to The Scotsman.
While visiting a course, it’s fun to watch how the pros conduct themselves and how golf is meant to be played. I had a nice and enjoyable round this morning.
Robertson joined Glasgow’s Cathcart Castle before to reaching ten years old, where he started his golf career. Like two other great Liverpool players, he tries to play when he has the chance: Alan Hansen and Kenny Dalglish.
“Charl and I had a great time this morning, and I always try to enjoy myself and have a good time when I go out,” he said. “It was astounding to see how easy he makes this sport look, given how hard I know it is.”

“Golfing is unquestionably my hobby. I enjoy doing that. I can take a vacation from football and forget about everything that happens on the pitch because of it. During really intense football games, I can kind of shut out, and today was one of those days.
This sport is amazing; I love it. Because of this, I was trying to pick up some tips from Charl, but to be honest, I doubt I’ll be able to replicate a lot of it.

“Now, I just try to accept the bad ones and also the good ones. When I was hitting golf shots, I tried to put a little more pressure on myself, and I loved my time at Cathcart Castle, incidentally.”
It was evident that MacIntyre was really excited to see the captain of his country’s national team, and Robertson felt the same way.
Because it was so hot outside, Robertson decided not to wear a hat.
“He’s an incredible young talent,” he said of the Oban golfer. He has excelled over the last few years, and I have no doubt that he will win some significant competitions.
I’ve seen him on TV a few times as a lefty, especially in The Masters, so I know how much he’s loving it. It’s incredible to watch him.
“He’s just carrying on our tradition of producing gifted young Scottish golfers.” If he could win one of the big ones, it would be really great.
Robertson, who has already helped Liverpool win both the Premier League and the Champions League, is set to exchange his golf ball for a football once more and have an exciting time playing for both club and country.
“Taking a break in the middle of the season can be difficult,” he said. During the summer, you can completely unplug to revitalize and refocus yourself. But for now, I’m still thinking about football.
It’s nice to have this week off so I can spend it with my family and relax a little. But we are going back to a hectic football period.
I’ll be really busy since the Champions League, the league, the Carabao Cup Final, and the Scotland games are all starting at the same time.
Making the most of this week while keeping a high standard of concentration, physical fitness, and attention to detail is therefore imperative. After all, for the team and the country alike, the last three or four months of the season may be tremendously exciting.
