‘WHAT A BOY!’ – Jurgen Klopp praised Liverpool star Luis Diaz for being ‘absolutely excellent’ after Fulham

Luis Diaz scored in the second leg of Liverpool’s 3-2 aggregate victory over Fulham to advance to the Carabao Cup final.

Following his goal that secured Liverpool’s return to Wembley, Jurgen Klopp praised Luis Diaz.

The Reds defeated Fulham 3-2 on aggregate to get to the Carabao Cup final. Liverpool, who had upset Chelsea on penalties in both the FA Cup final and the showpiece event two years prior, gained a 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage following a 2-1 victory at Anfield in the first leg of the playoffs.

After just 11 minutes, Diaz gave the visitors the lead when his shot eluded Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno. The Colombian international was named man of the match after running wild throughout the game.

During his news conference after the game, Klopp made a joke about Diaz’s potential for more than just one goal. Furthermore, even if Darwin Nunez wasn’t as dangerous in the last third as he usually is, the Anfield manager praised Nunez’s performance.

Regarding Diaz’s performance, Klopp commented, “Very good.” “He is unquestionably a tremendous player. I mean no disrespect, but I wish he had scored the third goal and set up the second. The first half of the game had some amazing play, and he was in a similar scenario to when he scored.

But what a boy, in terms of play! His speed, the power he can produce, his skill, and the combination of all of that are simply amazing. I’m overjoyed. To be honest, I thought Darwin’s performance today was excellent as well. Although he may not have been involved in these types of finish circumstances, to be honest, defending him is a nightmare. He maintained the ball, was always present, and did other such things.

“The boys occasionally bring us something useful. Simply put, it was a nice cup game. Anyone who thought that today would be an easy win and that we would simply play well doesn’t know the rules of the game or the significance of the occasion. We qualified, which is all we could have hoped for, and both teams wanted to visit Wembley.”
