Just five senior players are scheduled to be missing from training in the lead-up, meaning that a 25-man Liverpool squad should be prepared for Sunday’s trip to Arsenal.
To increase their lead at the top, the Reds will travel to London on Saturday in advance of a major Premier League match the following day.
During the pre-match press conference, Jurgen Klopp mentioned a “luxury problem” since important players are returning from injuries and the replacements are performing exceptionally well.
With a roster of 25 players practicing at the AXA Training Centre on Friday, it presents the manager with difficult choices to make when he selects his starting lineup.
Those included Thiago (hip), Kostas Tsimikas (collarbone), and Darwin Nunez (foot), all of whom seem to have overcome fitness issues to resume full training.
.
After an update at Klopp’s press conference, Nunez was doubtful for the match for a few hours, but the Uruguayan was still allowed to train in spite of a setback in the midweek victory against Chelsea.
After taking a hit to the knee during the 4-1 triumph, Alexis Mac Allister is also healthy and might start against the Emirates.
The team was in a cheerful mood as they worked out in the gym before going to the training fields, where Klopp’s staff put them through a series of drills.
The team was divided into groups of seven for rondos, with Pepijn Lijnders and Andreas Kornmayer, head of training and conditioning, leading the way.
Alongside Diogo Jota, Andy Robertson, Luis Diaz, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Nunez and Mac Allister collaborated.
Tsimikas and Thiago joined Virgil van Dijk, Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, Joe Gomez and Ibrahima Konate
Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Jarell Quansah, Conor Bradley, Kaide Gordon, Bobby Clark, and James McConnell made up the third group.
It’s interesting to note that Klopp talked with academy director Alex Inglethorpe while observing from the sidelines. In addition to the manager, Vitor Matos, who is responsible for coordinating a significant change this summer, will also be leaving.
Only Mo Salah, Wataru Endo, Joel Matip, Stefan Bajcetic, and Ben Doak are currently on the list of absentees; it is unclear if Thiago or Tsimikas will be taken into consideration.
