Van Dijk BLAMES himself, NOT Alisson for ‘turning point’ that saw Liverpool crash to Arsenal defeat

The centre back hurts after Gunners’ crucial mistake, cutting the lead to two points.

As Arsenal opened the title race wide open, VIRGIL VAN DIJK accepted responsibility for a startling defensive gaffe.

Gabriel Martinelli gave the Gunners a 2-1 lead at the Emirates by taking advantage of a disastrous mistake made by Liverpool captain Van Dijk and custodian Alisson.

In addition, Alisson made a mistake when Arsenal’s third goal was scored by substitute Leandro Trossard, dropping Mikel Arteta’s team two points behind Liverpool at the top.

Champions If Manchester City wins their two remaining games, they will move top and will play Brentford on Monday night.

Following Sunday’s 3-1 setback, Van Dijk added, “It’s a very tough day.” Since Martinelli’s goal changed the course of the game, I accept full responsibility for it even though I could have performed better.

Alisson touched me slightly, which is why he wasn’t able to clear the ball correctly. It was a split second choice that I made to let the ball bounce and try to put my body in the way.

Not only does it impact me personally, but it damages the rest of the team as well. It was a significant watershed.

“These things haven’t happened to me too often in my career, but I’ll get over them as I learn from my mistakes.”

This season, Liverpool has only lost twice in the league. Ibrahima Konate’s red card in the 88th minute reduced the team to 10 men.

Jurgen Klopp, the manager of the Reds who is leaving at the end of the current campaign, declined to attack Alisson and Van Dijk.

“Our main guys had a misunderstanding,” he stated. They’re people, too.

Bukayo Saka gave Liverpool the lead, but Gabriel’s odd own goal, which sprang from a mistake by William Saliba, tied the score at the half.

But the Reds’ 21-match domestic unbeaten streak came to an end due to their errors, with analyst Roy Keane comparing the defence to a “pub team.”

“We were not good enough, but we would have loved to win here,” Klopp continued.

However, nobody gets demoted or rejoices as a champion these days. We still have time to design the life we want.

“In the end, I didn’t give the remaining games for City a second thought. I’m not anxious. We anticipate that they will win every game.

Arsenal has won their last three Premier League games, moving them up to second place. Arteta praised his team for a pivotal victory of the season.

When asked if they now had the mindset to win the championship, Arteta replied, “Yes, definitely.” Today, we demonstrated that by defeating the most successful squad in Europe.

“You have to do it every three days if you want to be the greatest and have the best mindset. That presents us with a challenge.

“That was a big game that would determine our current location and future location.”

Declan Rice, a midfielder, continued, saying, “We knew the importance of the game.”

“We’ve managed to get back on track.”
