‘No Faith’ – Fans divided as Andre Onana made an ‘INCREDIBLE’ save after two crazy shots of West Ham players in Man Utd’s victory

Andre Onana made a good save in the opening 15 minutes to deny Edson Alvarez from scoring for West Ham United.

The Cameroon international is back from a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations in which he was dropped after playing one game.

There had been calls for him to be dropped from the United side as well thanks to some high profile blunders that lead directly to the club’s Champions League exit at the group stage.

Still he can produce moments of brilliance and one of those came after just 11 minutes.

James Ward-Prowse whipped in a corner and when Tomas Soucek’s header deflected off Edson Alvarez it needed a quick adjustment from Onana to produce the save.

Despite being close to the player, the Manchester United goalkeeper displayed strong reflexes as he held out his hand to block the ball.

The save was appreciated by his teammates as well, with Diogo Dalot cheering Onana on.

It is high time the Cameroonian keeps a clean sheet at Old Trafford. Could this be the game where he does it?

Fans on social media are not convinced though. Here are some reactions.

A first person said: “So Onana can actually save something?”

A second fan surpraised: “Credit where credit due: Great save by Onana I wouldn’t expect him to save that.”

A third person express: “Breaking! Andre Onana has saved a close range shot.”

Another one doubt: “I still have absolutely no faith in Onana. ZERO.”

Perhaps one of the best games from Andre Onana in a Manchester United shirt. His distribution was immaculate and he had some great saves. He didn’t put a foot wrong in this game.

Onana needs to keep this performance going in future games as well.
