Gabriel probably taunted him by shouting in his face in reaction to the errant hit.
However, Nunez proceeded to seize the defender’s head and the two gave each other a lighthearted hug.
Social media was used by fans to express their reactions. One user wrote: “Darwin Nunez…what is that shot and then shares a moment with Gabriel..the funniest footballer on earth.”

“Nunez and Gabriel laughing at that shot together ,” a third fan added.
As one Arsenal fan made jokes, “Nunez celebrated with Gabriel after making a mistake.” He was a member of our group.”
Bukayo Saka gave Arsenal the lead in the 14th minute, but Luis Diaz took advantage of a defensive blunder to assist his club tie the score shortly before the half.
Virgil van Dijk and Alisson made a mistake that allowed Gabriel Martinelli to give the Gunners the lead once more.
Leandro Trossard then completed a close-range shot to complete the victory.
“It was an extraordinary game, I think it was an incredible performance from the players and our people,” Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta remarked following the game.
We demanded that we go to a new level and connect it again to the demands that this league has in every game, and they responded in an incredible way. I believe the players gave it their all. The atmosphere we created in the stadium is the best I’ve seen this season.
“They give every ball their all, and I couldn’t be more proud of them since I am aware of how challenging it is to defeat this squad.
“How much you have to suffer, all the preparation, and how much they have to process to try to do what they did on the pitch so a big thank you.”
