Liverpool Welcomes the Return of 2 Stars but Laments the Absence of SEVEN Key Players, Including Mo Salah, in Rigorous Training for Burnley Clash

As anticipated, Mohamed Salah was one of seven senior players who did not attend Liverpool’s training on Thursday. Additionally, Joe Gomez may now be under suspicion.

In the lead-up to Saturday’s match against Burnley, Salah was mentioned in multiple posts uploaded on the team’s social media accounts, leading some to speculate about his potential availability.

But as he recovers from one of the worst injuries of his career, the Egyptian will keep up with his customised training regimen in the gym.

When he decided not to play Salah in the previous matches against Chelsea and Arsenal, Jurgen Klopp had previously expressed doubts about Salah’s participation against Burnley.

At his pre-match press conference on Friday, the manager is expected to provide an update on Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai (hamstring), Thiago (muscle), and Conor Bradley (bereavement).

He might also have updates on Gomez, as the versatile defender was not seen at Thursday’s practice, but it’s possible that his absence had nothing to do with it.

Ben Doak (MCL), Stefan Bajcetic (calf), and Joel Matip (ACL) are also out due to chronic ailments.

With several midfielders and defenders out, Klopp had a sizable group of youth players in his squad at the AXA Training Centre.

Along with Lewis Koumas, Jayden Danns, Trey Nyoni, Calum Scanlon, Bobby Clark, James McConnell, and Kaide Gordon, the regulars were also present. Kornel Misciur was the custodian.

After breaking his collarbone against Arsenal just before Christmas, Kostas Tsimikas has been out of action. However, on Thursday, he was able to participate in the entire session.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson also continued their pursuit of full match sharpness, while Wataru Endo was involved after returning from Asia Cup duty with Japan.

Meanwhile, Wataru Endo was back with his teammates after returning from the Asian Cup. This coming weekend is likely to see the debut of Japan’s skipper.

Other than Gomez’s injury, it appears that none have been sustained. Thiago is sidelined because of a muscular injury he suffered during his late-game comeback against Arsenal.

Ibrahima Konate is suspended and won’t be able to play against Burnley.
