De Gea was joined by wife Edurne, 38, and daughter Yanay, 3, as he cycled along in an all-black outfit.

Edurne pedalled her own way as De Gea ferried Yanay in a child’s seat.

And the trio stopped to take an adorable photo, with each member of the De Gea clan smiling broadly for the camera.

Whether De Gea finds himself a new team before the season ends is still up in the air.

At the age of eighteen, he joined Atletico Madrid’s first team and helped them win the Super Cup and Europa League.

De Gea secured a £19 million transfer to United in 2011 after playing 84 games for the dominant La Liga team.
