Liverpool forward Sadio Mane says certain values held by footballers ‘irritate’ him
Mane responded, “Following Neymar on social media is ‘enough'” when asked if he would like to live like him.
“I don’t want to give the impression that I’m a very critical person,” Mane said in an interview with L’Equipe. “It’s true that there are values in football that irritate me a little compared to the upbringing I had.”
But I would rather put myself at a distance rather than criticise. The most important thing is to stay the same, and I think I did. It is a huge victory for a boy from a little community.
The Liverpool winger was forceful in his response when asked if he would like to live like Cristiano Ronaldo or Neymar.
“No,” Mane retorted. That’s plenty; I follow them on social media. Although I believe their amazing lifestyle is amazing, I don’t think it’s for me.

The 31-year-old also confirmed that his ultimate dream in football would be World Cup glory with his home country.
‘[Win] the World Cup with Senegal,’ Mane said.
‘First you have to guarantee qualification, but I want to believe in crazy projects, and winning the competition with my country is one of them. Gold every year.’
