The father of Luis Diaz is still a legend in Anfield.
Since October, the Colombian has been a mainstay at Liverpool’s home games, and his performance against Luton Town was no exception.
Both Luis Diaz and his father were wearing gloves and short sleeves.
The identical equipment that Diaz’s youngster was wearing was on his father.
The camera turned to Luis Manuel, who was seated in one of the club’s boxes during the 4-1 victory over the Hatters, when his son made it 3-1 and ended Luton’s prospects.
The father Diaz was humorously sporting gloves in the ten degree Merseyside weather in addition to sporting a Reds shirt similar to his son’s.
The identical attire caught the attention of many fans, and one X user commented, “Luis Díaz dad is killing me, why he got short sleeves and gloves on like he’s playing,” among other things.
“Luis Diaz’s dad kitted and wearing gloves up in the exec box has done me,” another person said.
Many people will find solace in the moments when they witness the Diaz family’s horrifying conclusion to 2023.
In October, Luis Manuel was abducted along with his spouse; the latter was freed shortly after.
Luis Manuel’s kid missed games during the 13 days he had to wait for his release as his family dealt with the grief.
Only a few days after their reunion, the family witnessed their son score twice for Colombia in a thrilling 2-1 triumph over Brazil.
The family has since relocated to Merseyside. Even after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s equaliser against Manchester City in December, Diaz senior was seen cheering from the away end of the Etihad Stadium.
