The pass from Man Utd’s captain found its way onto Casemiro’s head, and the player scored again in a crucial moment for Erik ten Hag’s club, propelling United to the Emirates FA Cup quarterfinals.

Andre also played a key role, denying Nuno Espirito Santo’s side on five occasions as we kept a clean sheet and laid foundations from which Casemiro’s late winner could occur.

After the game, Onana expressed his pride to MUTV.

“Of course, it is a great feeling, especially the way we won today.

“It was not an easy game and when Bruno took that free-kick I knew something would happen.

“Great feeling, great way to win and we are now focused on the coming games.”

Andre hopes this victory can give the Reds confidence going into Sunday’s Manchester derby at the Etihad Stadium, as we seek to gain the bragging rights over Pep Guardiola’s team.

“We all know how important this game is for us,” added the Cameroon international. “[It is important] for the club, for the city, so we have to be ready for them.

“We are Manchester United. We know it is not going to be easy but we will fight. I know my guys and I know we will fight there and we will see what will happen.

“We train every day to play these kinds of games. It is a very exciting game. We all know who we are so we will be ready for them.”

United would love it if their goalkeeper didn’t have to do anything, but at least when he was called upon last night, Andre Onana was up to the challenge.

.

The Cameroonian made some fine stops throughout the match and although none of them were particularly spectacular, there was a real calmness about the way he made them, and often tipped them away from any danger.

Onana has had his fair share of struggles during his debut campaign, but for much of it, he has been a reliable shot-stopper as well, particularly given the regular changes in the defence.
