Two days before the 2024 Copa América draw, a group of Conmebol football legends, managers and other celebrities gathered this Tuesday for a friendly match in Fort Lauderdale, in the American state of Florida.

Man City legend Sergio Agüero, retired two years ago after a heart problem, Colombian Carlos Valderrama and Uruguayan Diego Godín were some of the figures who formed the so-called Tango Team, which beat Samba Team 2-1 with two penalty goals from Gonzalo Higuain.

Ronaldinho, also from the penalty spot, scored the goal for the Samba Team, where, in addition to the Brazilian, the Chilean Iván Zamorano, the Mexican Luis Hernández and the Venezuelan Juan Arango played. Leaders from the highest football entities were also encouraged to participate in the event, which took place amid laughter, jokes and constant hugs on the grass of the DRV PNK Stadium, home of Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.

Tango’s white shirt was worn by both FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Argentine Football Federation (AFA) President Claudio Tapia.

Just a few minutes into the game, Tapia—who was sporting the number 10 on his back—made an unexpected move to allow the great Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt to take the field. Several well-known figures from the world of football, including former national team goalie Dida and full-back Javier Zanetti, were also present.
