Harry Kane is expected to sign with Manchester United after Bayern Munich eliminated a significant roadblock.
Next season, the Reds will probably add another striker to back up Rasmus Hojlund, and Erik ten Hag may prioritise Kane. The England captain was Ten Hag’s top transfer target last summer, but negotiations were abruptly cut short when Daniel Levy of Spurs was unwilling to sell to a direct rival.
Ten Hag, however, shifted his attention to potential talent, which resulted in Hojlund’s £72 million departure from Atalanta. Despite being the club’s main goalscorer this season, the 21-year-old has been carrying the majority of the load and is currently out due to an injury.
This summer, United could find it attractive to have an experienced forward who can guide and compete alongside Hojlund. It’s doubtful that a player in the Danish international’s age group will be signed.
Surprisingly, with Bayer Leverkusen poised to win a historic Bundesliga title, Kane could end up carrying on his trophy drought from his time at Bayern. In spite of this, the England captain has excelled on the field, leading his club to 36 goals in 34 games across all competitions, including two Champions League victories over United this season.
On Saturday, Kane scored three goals and provided two assists as Bayern easily defeated Mainz 8-1. And now West Ham United’s coach Kevin Nolan has stated on talkSPORT that he believes the player will return and join United at a later point in his career.
“I can definitely see him back in the Premier League,” he remarked. Tottenham never would have sold him to Manchester United, in my opinion.
“But for him to go to Bayern Munich, then it’s easier for him to come back from Germany, and I think Man United will be his destination.”
“I believe that Bayern would request a refund of their funds. He is definitely worth it. 20 or more goals every season, and he was also a Tottenham player at the time. Is Man United really that much better than Tottenham?
“But in any case, I feel like he infuses the team with a different energy the moment he dons the shirt for whoever it is,” he went on. I believe Man United would be the best option.”
