MANCHESTER UNITED ensured Jurgen Klopp won’t depart Anfield with a treble after a thrilling comeback against Liverpool.

The Red Devils emerged triumphant after a 4-3 ding-dong at Old Trafford ended in incredible fashion.

They were caught flat-footed at Old Trafford as they fell behind early on courtesy of Scott McTominay.

United held firm as the visitors stepped up the pressure and looked set to make it to the break with their lead in tact before a late sucker punch before half time.

Alexis Mac Allister equalised on 44 minutes before Mo Salah grabbed a second in additional time.

And United struggled to lay a glove on the Reds in the second period as their last chance of silverware seemed to be going up in smoke.

However, sub Antony levelled late on but it could have got better – only for Marcus Rashford to fire wide when clean through with the last kick of normal time.

But in another unexpected turn of events in what proved to be an exciting match, Harvey Elliott scored in extra time just before the half.

His goal restored Liverpool’s lead after deflecting off Christian Eriksen’s studs and shooting straight into the bottom corner.

However, Marcus Rashord tied the score with only a few minutes remaining, and in the closing seconds, Amad Diallo scored the game’s winning goal before being sent off for taking off his shirt to celebrate. The final score was 4-3.
