Sofyan Amrabat, a midfielder for Manchester United, is reportedly being watched by Juventus ahead of the summer transfer season.
Although the Morocco international did not light up the stage last summer when he joined United on loan, Amrabat has not performed particularly well this year.
In order to enable the Reds to make his loan permanent at the conclusion of the season, United made care to include a condition in the deal that saw him leave Fiorentina.
However, given the current state of affairs, it is extremely doubtful that United will activate that clause and will instead decide to split ways with Amrabat, who is scheduled to return to Florence.
Gazzetta dello Sport, an Italian publication, cites TuttoMercato as saying that Juventus contemplated a move for Amrabat prior to his joining United and is currently reexamining the possibility.
At the end of this season, Amrabat’s contract with Fiorentina will only have one year left, and the Italian powerhouses will probably want to sell him. That might indicate that Juventus is getting ready to strike and bargain for a low-cost agreement.
Amrabat is just one of several United midfielders facing unclear futures; Christian Eriksen and Casemiro may potentially depart the team this summer.
Amrabat might be one of the first victims of Ten Hag’s plan to invigorate the United engine room with younger players.
