During Friday’s international matches, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz contributed to the goals for the Netherlands and Colombia, respectively, while Dominik Szoboszlai scored the winning goal for Hungary from the penalty spot.
Szoboszlai scored a penalty kick in the 48th minute to end the match and lead his nation to a 1-0 victory against Turkiye at home.
Hungary’s unbeaten streak now stands at 13 games after the Liverpool midfielder scored from 12 yards out, finding the bottom left corner of the net.
Alongside Virgil van Dijk, who contributed to his country’s clean sheet in central defense, Gakpo was instrumental in the Netherlands’ 4-0 victory over Andy Robertson’s Scotland.
During the friendly victory in Amsterdam, Gakpo scored goals for Georginio Wijnaldum and Tijani Reijnders.
In another encounter, Diaz played for Colombia in a 1-0 victory over Spain in London. It was through a fantastic solo run and cross from the left wing that Diaz set up Daniel Munoz for the game-winning goal in the second half.
Conor Bradley played the entire game for Northern Ireland in a 1-1 tie with Romania in Bucharest, earning minutes as well.
Harvey Elliott scored twice during the day to lead the England U21s to a convincing 5-1 victory.
Twenty-five minutes into the Young Lions’ U21 European Championship away match against Azerbaijan, the Liverpool midfielder opened the score.
Elliott received a cross from Reds teammate Tyler Morton, who is on loan, and evaded the offside trap at the back post to finish beyond the goalkeeper.
Midway through the second half, Elliott scored from just outside the six-yard box, hitting the mark once more.
With the double, the 20-year-old has scored seven goals in his previous five England U21 matches.
After 75 minutes, Elliott was replaced by Jarell Quansah, who was not used.
Trey Nyoni, Jayden Danns, and Amara Nallo all made their England debuts at the U18 level.
At the U18 Pinatar Super Cup, England won a penalty shootout 5-3 thanks to a goal from Danns, after the team drew goalless with Germany.
Bobby Clark, Kaide Gordon, and Reds loanee Luke Chambers all came on as second-half substitutes for England’s Elite Squad (U20s), which defeated Poland 5-1.
In the meantime, Lewis Koumas’s debut for Wales U21s proved to be the match-winner as he came off the bench to score in a 2-1 victory over Lithuania in U21 European Championship qualifying.
