Xabi Alonso is going to cost Liverpool “the bank,” as Football Insider reports. With ties to both the Reds and Bayern Munich, the Bayer Leverkusen coach is currently the most sought-after manager in the world of football.

With the departure of both Jürgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel, both clubs will be without managers come summertime. Although recent reports suggest Bayern may have taken the lead in the fight to acquire Alonso, he is still the favorite to take over at both.

If Alonso decided to leave Leverkusen, Sky Sports reported last week that he would relocate to Munich instead of Liverpool. However, according to Football Insider, the Reds aren’t about to give up.

According to the article, Liverpool is reportedly negotiating behind the scenes to create a succession plan before to Klopp’s departure. However, Alonso will have the final say in the matter, and Liverpool is reportedly interviewing other candidates as a fallback.
