Jadon Sancho is now a confirmed Manchester United player after a lengthy wait.
Fans will realize Jadon is a huge lover of body art when he dons the Reds’ new home shirt for the first time during a game—assuming, of course, that he wears the short-sleeved version.
Of course, a lot of football players these days have tattoos. Marcus Rashford, Sancho’s teammate for United and England, has several inks on his body, including a massive lion tattooed over his heart.
Like Jadon, Victor Lindelof and Alex Telles are also notable for their tattoos, many of which hold special significance.
When we asked the Reds’ newest addition which design meant the most to him in our first interview, he gestured to his left forearm, which has a moving remembrance of a family member on it.
This is the most significant one for me because it’s the first one I had. My younger brother passed away when he was younger. This is undoubtedly my most meaningful poetry, Jadon said. I wrote one while I was in elementary school, and I read it during the funeral.
The poem says, “You and I will always be together. You were a special baby boy who brought us joy and happiness.” I couldn’t wait to see you grow up, pass the football test, and bring home the trophy. However, you’ve left. What can I do? Our dear brother, you are loved.
“There are birds, heaven, an angel, a butterfly, and my sister’s and brother’s initials around the rest of [the poem],” he continued.
Sancho’s right arm features a more vibrant assortment of cartoon characters, and he says the collection will continue to expand. His left arm is a personal homage to his family.
“I kind of freestyled here because I used to like comics,” Jadon remarked.
“Obviously, there are still The Simpsons, Spider-Man, and Sonic in this. There will be more because I haven’t completed yet.
