RAMPAGE BOSS: Erik ten Hag absolutely mad with Antony as Man Utd star rushed to press Brentford and caused Onana’s goal to be on alert

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag was less than happy with one of his forwards in the 1-1 draw against Brentford yesterday.

United’s Dutchman now seems immediately under pressure once again, explaining why the club have been linked with the likes of Carlo Ancelotti.

This time, Antony presses Ajer, leaving Collins free. Once again, Flekken finds him with ease.

This situation led to Ivan Toney’s goal being denied

And whilst he will take responsibility himself, Ten Hag was visibly frustrated with his United players on the touchline against Brentford yesterday.

Journalist Samuel Luckhurst spotted one moment late in the second half when the United boss could be seen ‘going spare’ at Antony.

Ten Hag wasn’t happy that the United winger had decided to press the Brentford defence, leaving space in behind yet again.

Luckhurst shared his observation on X, saying: “Ten Hag went spare at Antony there for pressing, leaving space in behind.

“Brentford have had so much joy with passes in behind [United] all evening. Another let-off for United.”

And whilst this was a particularly frustrating moment from Ten Hag’s point of view, it was par for the course for United’s performance last night.

The inconsistent nature of this team must be so infuriating for fans to watch, given there is so much talent on the pitch.

But United’s performance left Rasmus Hojlund often isolated up top, and the likes of Alejandro Garnacho just couldn’t get going.

Fortunately, Andre Onana was good once again, producing an important double save to deny Brentford at one point.

And whilst there seems little doubt that Ten Hag will still be at Manchester United until the end of the season, it’s becoming more and more difficult to imagine him as boss next campaign.
