And with the American billionaire in London for the game, they spotted together.

The pair, who were joined by lawyer Mitchell Nusbaum, were seen at luxury Mayfair hotel The Connaught.

Woodward, 52, was pictured on his way out of the lavish venue in a blue jumper and jeans, while holding his jacket, phone and an umbrella.

Glazer, 63, followed him out the hotel 15 minutes later dressed in a black coat.

Woodward was chief executive at Man Utd for ten years from 2012.

He is a long-term friend of the Glazer family, initialling helping them buy the club in 2005.

Soon after, Woodward landed a job at Old Trafford and was integral to the club’s commercial revenues more than doubling in the Glazers first seven years in charge.

The accountant and banker was then promoted to Man Utd CEO in 2012.

However, he was unable to replicate his success in the business world on the pitch.

His step up coincided with legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson retiring a year later.

And United then began to tumble down the league and have not won a Premier League since.

Woodward has taken much of the blame from fans after poor moves in the transfer market.

Criticism also came following the failed European Super League breakaway.

Man Utd supporters protested for Woodward to leave the club and his departure was confirmed in February 2022.

He now works on the Board of Trustees at charity Bloomsbury Football Foundation.

They work with young people with the aim to improve their mental and physical health through football.

Since his Man Utd departure, the Glazers have sold 25 per cent of the club and handed football operations to Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Sir Dave Brailsford, the owner of Ineos, and his right-hand man are currently assembling a new group of senior executives to lead Manchester United.

Omar Berrada, the CEO of City, is relocating to Manchester’s red area.

Jason Wilcox left Southampton to take the position of technical director.

Dan Ashworth, the sporting director for Newcastle, is expected to come this summer.
