Anfield veteran expresses his opinion bluntly about what Klopp’s team’s 2-0 Prem derby loss implies.
According to Jamie Carragher, Liverpool’s hopes of winning the title have been dashed by a “unacceptable” defeat to Everton.
The legend of Anfield believes that after a dismal derby performance at Goodison Park, the Reds must accept the “end” of their quest for glory “on the chin”.

In addition, he attacked Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp’s strategies and said that, with over 30 minutes remaining and down 2-0, Liverpool had run out of ideas.
Liverpool lost at Arsenal by three points after goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and a header from Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Arsenal are currently atop the Premier League.
Additionally, it means that with two games remaining, the Reds are only one point ahead of Manchester City in third place.
“This is the end of the title run for Liverpool,” Carragher stated to Sky Sports. It seems to be coming to an end.
“Tonight is Everton’s night, you have to take it on the chin.”
“They played into Everton’s hands,” the former England defender continued. Liverpool had a very inexperienced, bad start, throwing away foolish fouls.
“They managed to stay in the game, but at this point, it is inexcusable that Darwin Nunez missed the opportunity before halftime. That is unacceptable in this context.”
However, the expert feels that the Reds ought to have won the game after the intermission, when Calvert-Lewin put an end to them at the 58-minute mark.
“I felt Liverpool were in control at the start of the second half,” Carra stated. And after they obtained one, they would proceed to obtain two.
The ball was then lost by Mo Salah. He hasn’t looked like himself for the most part of the season, but especially after his injury return.
He is a superstar, a legend, and one of Liverpool’s all-time greats. But he’s been so out of touch.
“And as soon as it went 2-0 Liverpool ran out of ideas.”
The captain of the Reds, Virgil van Dijk, delivered an equally harsh decision.
The 32-year-old Dutch center defender stated: “[We’re] Disappointed in a lot of ways.
“I believe that everyone needs to examine themselves in the mirror, assess how they performed, and consider if they truly gave it their all. Is winning the league really what they want?
“It goes without saying that we are fighting, and we still have games tonight.
“But if we play like we did overall today, not winning challenges and giving the ref the opportunity to give a free-kick like he did many, many times, then we have no chance to win the title.”It’s a tough one and obviously we had to play much better against a side who are fighting relegation.”
