Striker Antony once again showed poor performance in Manchester United’s disastrous loss to Crystal Palace, and acted disrespectfully towards his teammates and coach.
The match at Selhurst Park saw Antony have a lackluster performance with only 68% passing accuracy, 1 shot, no successful dribbles and not creating any opportunities for his teammates.
Antony was angry with his teammates even though he lost the ball earlier
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher harshly criticized Antony’s actions during the match: “He needs to leave the field immediately. Criticizing teammates during competition is unacceptable. Instead of complaining and badmouthing your teammates, focus on playing and contributing to the team.”
After the match, Antony also expressed discomfort with Mason Mount and goalkeeper Onana, showing a lack of professionalism and team spirit.
Antony’s poor performance continues to make experts and Manchester United fans question the £50 million transfer value the club spent to acquire him from Ajax. After two seasons at Old Trafford, Antony has only had 1 goal and 1 assist, an extremely disappointing number compared to expectations.
