Jurgen Klopp spent £3.4 million on a property on the Balearic island of Mallorca, where he is building “an ecological family paradise.”
Despite having two years remaining on his contract, the Liverpool manager shocked the football world in February when he declared he will depart Anfield in May after nine seasons.
The 56-year-old Klopp intimated he might never be able to succeed in football again and gave as his reason for the decision that he was “running out of energy.”
The German was evasive when asked about his plans after leaving Liverpool, but he could very well retire to his Mediterranean villa if he decided to take a break from the game or give it up completely.
Mark Lawrenson, a pundit and former Liverpool defender, thinks that Klopp and Ulla intend to move to Mallorca.

The departing Liverpool manager purchased the villa for £3.4million back in 2022
According to Bild, Klopp has transformed the villa into a low-energy house, where the heating and air conditioning systems are interconnected
Klopp and his spouse Ulla might move to Mallorca for a period of time off.
It’s not a big secret, but I’m not sure if I should tell you that. Lawrenson stated to Off the Ball in February that he was building a home in Mallorca.
“I live not too far from the location where he is constructing his house.” In that regard, Ulla, his spouse, is in command of everything. Klopp stated, “The bloody thing’s not even ready yet, and I’m paying all the bills!”
I would thus guess that he will withdraw there for a while.
The 5,000-square-meter house was bought by Klopp from Swiss businessman and artist Rolf Knie in June 2022 for £3.4 million (€4 million). Klopp intends to remodel the entire property.
As per Bild, Klopp has converted the villa into an energy-efficient home with linked HVAC and heating systems.
A computer controls the two systems to guarantee that the inside temperature of the house stays constant, irrespective of the external weather conditions.
Bild goes on to say that a central system controls all appliances and electrical gadgets, and Klopp can operate it from his phone.
Up to 75% less electricity is expected to be used with this setup, and a brand-new, cutting-edge irrigation system is built to know when it needs to be used.

Klopp bought the estate from Swiss entrepreneur and artist Rolf Knie.
The same firm that created the garden of British billionaire Richard Branson’s hotel, the “Son Bunyola,” will be doing the landscaping work on the property.
It is known that when Klopp travels to the island, he sleeps at a neighboring hotel, but after the renovations are finished, that will no longer be the case.
Lawrenson stated that even if construction is still ongoing, the wait will be well worth it.
“It’s not a nice gaff; it’s an absolutely fabulous gaff,” I can say with certainty. “It’s extraordinary, it’s really that good,” Lawrenson continued.
After nine incredibly successful years at Anfield, where he won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup, Klopp’s departure has shocked the Premier League.
“I will leave the club at the end of the season,” Klopp stated in a video statement that Liverpool posted in February.
“I know that hearing this for the first time can be shocking for many people right now, but I can definitely explain it, or at least try to.”

Since joining Liverpool in October 2015, Klopp has become into the team’s best manager in the history of the Premier League.
The fact is, I’m, how shall I put it, exhausted. Naturally, I have no issues at all right now. I have known for a while that I will eventually need to make an announcement, but for now, everything is perfect.
“I am aware that I am unable to perform the task repeatedly.”
The German manager, who has become a hero among Liverpool supporters after his trophy-filled tenure, is currently getting ready for his last game in the Anfield dugout. On Sunday, he will lead his team against Wolves.
When Klopp’s tenure as manager finally comes to an end, it will be an emotional moment for both him and the Liverpool supporters.
Before his farewell match as manager last weekend, Klopp was spotted taking it all in at Anfield, where pictures that had been leaked on social media touched Liverpool supporters’ hearts.
Fans on social media speculated that the 56-year-old, who was spotted alone in the grandstand and in the center circle, was making a farewell video before his last game as manager.
‘He’s just standing in the center circle alone and it’s very terrible,’ a grandstand supporter was heard saying in a video showing Klopp on the field. He’s processing everything.

He was also spotted in the grandstand, where there were rumors that he was making a video farewell.
On October 8, 2015, Klopp took over as manager of the Reds, succeeding Brendan Rodgers. This weekend’s match against Wolves will be Klopp’s 489th game in that role.
Liverpool had been leading Arsenal and Manchester City in the Premier League race for a while, but a poor run of results in recent weeks caused them to drop out of contention.
The German was visibly moved as he applauded the crowd at Villa Park during Liverpool’s 3-3 draw with Aston Villa, his last away game as manager.
“It just doesn’t feel (like) it, even though I know it’s the last time,” Klopp said to reporters following the match.
The away supporters were consistently completely crazy. Over the years, we asked them to travel a lot—both in terms of what they did and where. It’s an amazing partnership.
Liverpool has also revealed its plans for Klopp’s departure, which will allow supporters to say goodbye to a number of well-known people.
Tuesday, May 28 at the city’s M&S Bank Arena will feature “An Evening with Jurgen Klopp & Special Guests,” according to Liverpool’s announcement.
It is being billed as Klopp’s farewell to fans, and Reds alumnus John Bishop will serve as the event’s host.
According to Klopp, “this is going to be a very special night,” on the team’s website. Along with a ton of amazing music and wonderful moments shared.
“I’m incredibly excited to spend it with our supporters, who are this amazing and special club’s lifeblood.”
At Sunday’s final home game, Reds supporters will have the opportunity to express their gratitude to their departing leader.Presenter Peter McDowall of LFCTV will host a live Q&A session with the German executive during the private event. Klopp stated late last week that he thought Liverpool would have struggled the following season if he had not made the unexpected choice to leave the team at the end of the season.”You start hearing people say that I look really tired,” I said in response to the football team’s poor performance over the past few weeks. “I’m just getting older,” Klopp remarked in a Sky Sports interview.”I aim to give it my all until the very end.” That was the plan from the beginning. I knew that it might have been difficult the following year if I hadn’t made that choice now. Considering preparing for another preseason, make important choices. You definitely must have a lot of energy for that. Eighty percent is insufficient. That is the actuality. It’s excessive. The work is done nonstop. Of course there are more essential things in life, but if you truly care, you will always care for them.”I did it for a fair amount of time, and I knew I couldn’t keep up the level required for a club like Liverpool.”
