3 WINNER and 4 LOSER in Man Utd vs Brighton: Amrabat is unrecognizable; Hojlund created a huge influence when replacing Bruno

Goals from Diogo Dalot and Rasmus Hojlund gave Manchester United a scarcely-deserved 2-0 win at Brighton & Hove Albion as they ended an underwhelming Premier League campaign on Sunday ahead of next week’s FA Cup final against Manchester City.

With the win, Brighton finished 11th on 48 points, Manchester United finished the season in eighth place, their lowest finish in the Premier League era, with 60 points, trailing Newcastle United on goal differential.

The players who performed well and poorly following Man Utd’s victory will then be listed.

WINNER

Andre Onana

Fairly confident presence with the ball and without it. Has earned his untouchable status for the summer with his improvement in the season.

Diogo Dalot

Avoided an early booking but overcame first-half struggled to finish like a striker in the second and give United a lead out of nowhere.

Rasmus Hojlund

Added a physical presence up top that allowed United to relieve the pressure with an aerial ball sometimes. Finished late on to secure United’s win and keep his streak alive.

LOSER

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Man United finishes outside the European spots despite winning last game in Premier League – Winnipeg Free Press

The reliable lockdown defender is no longer there. He might be counting his last minutes as a United player.

Sofyan Amrabat

“Amrabat caught in possession” could very well be the line to sum up his United career and was the anthem for him this game. Completely lacks the awareness and agility to play in the Premier League. Brutally exposed by Brighton’s press.

Scott McTominay

A passenger in midfield, as usual. Hovered around the opposition box to get on the end of a chance or two but missed that too.

Bruno Fernandes

Huffed and puffed up front to no avail as Brighton barely let United into their attacking groove. Got booked near the end of the first half with a lazy lunge.
