Liverpool star Mohamed Salah took a day off from training to travel to London, where he visited a museum, took pictures of ancient Egyptian artifacts, and posted on social media with the caption, “Being a tourist in London on my day off,” in response to interest from the reigning Saudi Pro League champions Al-Ittihad.

The Liverpool forward has been subjected to a great deal of abuse and mockery from the fans for visiting the location that is home to an enormous collection of Egyptian artifacts. Many of these items were taken during Great Britain’s imperial reign over Egypt.
“Observing the items they pilfered,” an admirer commented.
Another person said, “You should tell them those artifacts belong in your country.”
Another person said, “Britain is once again stealing the history of Egypt and the rest of the world.”
“Our pilfered belongings,” a fan from Egypt wrote.
Another person remarked, “Dude, these monuments are ours and they are the ones who stole them.”
