Andrej Kramaric should be signed by the Reds, according to a former Liverpool player. This would give Darwin Nunez more competition for a starting position up front.
In 12 Premier League games between Boxing Day and April 7, Nunez recorded seven goals and three assists, giving the impression that he had elevated his playing halfway through the 2023–24 campaign. The center-forward, nevertheless, had a dismal finish to the season as he lost his spot in the starting eleven and went without a goal in his final eight league games.
Because of his amazing work ethic and ability to be virtually unplayable when he’s playing well, Nunez is a fan favourite at Anfield. However, it is evident that the Uruguayan is inexperienced and untrustworthy, therefore it is unclear what new manager Arne Slot would think of him.
Liverpool has been rumoured to be interested in signing Santiago Gimenez, the striker for Feyenoord who Slot has helped become an Eredivisie goal machine.
However, Igor Biscan, who played 118 games for Liverpool from 2000 to 2005, has advised Slot and Liverpool to take a different course.
Biscan has recommended his Croatian colleague Kramaric to Liverpool after the Hoffenheim star’s season-long run of 17 goals and six assists in 31 appearances.Although Biscan did not mention Nunez by name, he made fun of the 24-year-old and Cody Gakpo by saying that Liverpool needed a “proper centre-forward.”
“This season, there were moments when it seemed like they might need a really good finisher in front of goal,” stated Biscan.
Liverpool’s most recent goal: “I would go for a proper center-forward, a goalscorer, because they’ve created so many chances this season and missed a lot of them.” An unexpected striker target was named. They dropped out of the title race for that reason.
“Any Croatian playing at Anfield in a red shirt, like Andrej Kramaric at Liverpool, is something I would love to see; they’re always so amazing.”
However, who knows if he performs well at [the] Euros? He might be an option.
“They need to strengthen that position; they need a good center-forward who can score twenty or so goals.”
Kramaric has experience playing in England; from January 2015 until July 2016, he was a member of Leicester City’s roster.
But before officially joining the Bundesliga team, the 32-year-old spent time on loan at Hoffenheim, where he only managed four goals in 20 games for Leicester.
Despite hardly lighting up the Premier League in his first stint in England, Kramaric is a skilled shooter who has scored 222 goals in 468 games for his team.
In addition to having a wealth of international experience, Kramaric has scored 28 goals in 91 games for Croatia, which allowed them to advance to the 2018 World Cup final.
At this summer’s European Championship, the former Dinamo Zagreb player will be hoping to add to his goal total. If he puts up a strong showing, Liverpool may decide to get in touch with his agency.
It is important to point out, nevertheless, that Liverpool would be surprising to sign Kramaric given their preference for younger players who haven’t yet realised their full potential.
