The defender also came dangerously close to opening his account for his country when he had a shot blocked that appeared to be heading into the Chilean net.

Because Argentina has already advanced to the Copa America quarterfinals, the 26-year-old may get a rest in the next game, but he will surely be confident that he will continue to be an important member of the defense once the elimination stage arrives.
