Following the 2024 Euros on Tuesday, Virgil van Dijk had some time off from training to unwind with his family on an opulent yacht in Ibiza.
The 33-year-old captain of Liverpool went shirtless to flaunt his toned muscles and six-pack, demonstrating why he’s one of the best-regarded defenders in the world.

For the sun-filled retreat, he was accompanied by his spouse, Rike Nooitgedagt, and their four kids.

Even after England eliminated his Netherlands team from the Euros semifinals last week, Virgil appeared to be in a good mood as he put on a life jacket and went paddleboarding.

While Rike, his childhood girlfriend, looked stunning in a small brown bikini that accentuated her trim body.

For the sun-drenched retreat, he was accompanied by his spouse Rike Nooitgedagt and their four kids.

She dove into the ocean off the back of the boat to cool off, keeping her eyes shaded by an oddball set of sunglasses.

Growing up in Breda, the Netherlands, Virgil and Rike started dating as teenagers and got married in 2017.

She previously left her position as a fashion sales manager to follow Virgil to Scotland after he joined with Celtic, and she has supported him throughout his football career, which has taken him all throughout Europe.

Rike has made the decision to forgo the traditional WAG way of life in favour of staying out of the spotlight and maintaining their private family life.

“I worked as a sales manager and sold different fashion brands to the stores in Holland,” she stated when discussing the decision in 2019. I had to step down to follow my man wherever football leads him, even though I loved it.

With his £220,000-a-week contract about to expire next summer, Virgil’s future at Liverpool is starting to look increasingly uncertain. This is why he is vacationing in Spain.

Rike has opted to eschew the typical WAG lifestyle, preferring to avoid the spotlight and keep their family life private

Virgil also acknowledged that he was considering his future after the Netherlands’ elimination from the Euros, adding, “I will think carefully this summer about what I want, at club level and as an international player.”

According to a rumour from last month, Al-Nassr is planning to make Virgil the most paid defender in the world if they make a play for him.

The general director has reportedly already spoken with Virgil’s representatives to discuss a transfer this summer, according to reports from the Spanish publication Marca.

He also presented a contract offer that “would put the Dutchman at the top of the global defensive salary ladder.”

After placing second in the Saudi Pro League for the second consecutive season, Al-Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo aim to bolster the team considerably.

Aymeric Laporte and Virgil would form a strong backline together at the back.

The close friend and former Liverpool teammate Gini Wijnaldum joined the Saudi team last year, raising the possibility that Steven Gerrard would seek him at Al-Ettifaq.

However, Virgil has not received an offer for a new contract and has spoken about the circumstances after Liverpool’s season-ending match.

In addition, Virgil acknowledged that he was considering his future after the Netherlands’ elimination from the European Championship (see photo). He stated, “I will think carefully this summer about what I want, at club level and as an international player.”

“My future is not important at this moment,” he continued. All I can say at this point is that I doubt I would be able to say goodbye to him [Klopp] and remain dry-eyed, since I was taken aback by it.

“When these fans finally say goodbye to you, it will be something special because they are something else.”

I asked Joel, too, “How did you manage to keep it dry, pal?” He simply needed to get through it fast and stay with us, and I think he did a good job of that.

“I have nothing to say at this time.” Nothing is on the table, and nothing has changed. Nothing at all changed in my circumstances.
