HEARTWARMING MAN: Liverpool star Cody Gakpo uses his limited free time to return to his homeland Togo to help those in need

The Liverpool footballer Cody Gakpo was seen feeding kids on camera when he was visiting his mother’s country of Togo.

In a TikTok video, the 24-year-old is seen giving food bowls to a group of young people who are waiting.

Gakpo is believed to be considering the possibility of starting a philanthropic project in Togo, which is the reason behind his decision to take a post-season hiatus, according to ESPN.

Gakpo has strong ties to his family, who remain in the most populated nation in Africa, as well as to his native Togo. But the former PSV star was unwavering in his resolve to play for the Dutch national team, of which he has been a member since he was an U18 player, when Togo’s football association approached him four years ago about changing international teams.

The 24-year-old hopes to invest philanthropically because he has deep ties to his mother’s homeland.

Gakpo had previously expressed his desire to travel to Togo in 2019, but the COvID pandemic and his hectic schedule prevented him from fulfilling this desire until now.

Speaking to herself on video chat at the time, the 24-year-old said, “My older brother has been to Togo, just like my younger brother.” Not me yet, though.

“A trip to Togo is still on my bucket list. But determining when to… For a football player, organising a lengthy vacation—especially one that takes them abroad—can be challenging.

“I’d like to go,” Perhaps skip Ibiza in the summer, lol.
