Arsenal welcomed Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen to the Emirates for a pre-season friendly. Both teams fielded strong line-ups but with home advantage, Arsenal were in control of the game.
In the 8th minute, Zinchenko had a shot from the second line, the ball went in a tricky way that Bayer Leverkusen’s goalkeeper could not block. Just a minute later, Arsenal continued to put high pressure and steal the ball, Havertz assisted Trossard to score the second goal with a calm handling in the penalty area.

After dominating the early game, Arsenal slowed down but still added a third goal before half-time. In the 38th minute, Gabriel Jesus made a great run and shot from outside the box.
In the second half, Arsenal changed their formation early but Bayer Leverkusen still had difficulty finding a goal. Coach Xabi Alonso made significant changes but could not improve the situation. The German team even conceded another goal in the 65th minute from Havertz’s shot.
It was not until the 79th minute that Hlozek scored a consolation goal for Leverkusen. The 3-goal lead was maintained until the end of the match, beating the German champions 4-1, Arsenal had a perfect preparation for the new season. The first match of the Gunners will host Wolves, the match takes place at 9:00 p.m. on August 17.
