2 Brazilian stars seem to be the choice to help Manchester United replace Manuel Ugarte.

The latest developments surrounding the Manuel Ugarte deal have just emerged. Although it was said that an agreement had been reached with Ugarte , Manchester United are now ready to give up on the Uruguayan player . The Premier League club is not willing to meet the fee of more than 60 million euros for PSG.

Fabrizio Romano also confirmed the Red Devils would explore other top targets for a suitable deal. Sofyan Amrabat has been a target for some time now, having returned to Fiorentina after a season at Old Trafford.

Ugarte is unlikely to go to Man Utd.

The Amrabat deal would help Man Utd get a better fee, but given his performances last season, he is not a signing that would improve the club’s midfield, especially with Casesmiro, Christian Eriksen and Scott McTominay on their way out. Apart from Amrabat, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, the other options for the English representative include Joao Gomes of Wolves.

A year and a half after joining Wolverhampton Wanderers from Flamengo in his native Brazil, Gomes has become one of the Premier League’s most promising all-round players. The Brazilian is considered a star player when it comes to ball recovery, and he even shone against Man Utd when Wolves beat Erik ten Hag’s men in the opening game of the 2023/24 season at Old Trafford.

Another Brazilian who could be on United’s radar is Andre Trindade. The 23-year-old plays for Fluminense and has never played in Europe. But Jacobs believes Andre could be sold for under £30m, making the 2023 Copa Libertadores winner one of the most affordable options for United.

Gomes is one of two Brazilian targets of Man Utd.

Interestingly, Andre will be meeting his idol at Man United. Speaking to Folha de Pernambuco last year, the Fluminense No.7 admitted that there are similarities between his style of play and that of a young Casemiro:

“It’s always satisfying to be here and compete with the best, especially in the Brazilian team, which has the best players in the world.”

“Casemiro has been a top player in his position in Europe in recent years. He plays in the best leagues. So it’s a learning phase. I’m trying to learn from him, from his movement, from his marking. Because I’m a similar type of midfielder to Casemiro.”

HITC sources understand that Andre is also on Fulham’s radar. Coincidentally, the London club is also still interested in Scott McTominay. If Man Utd agree to release McTominay, who is expected to bring in £25 million , the Old Trafford team may face competition in the Andre deal.
