Barcelona  look set to miss out on Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich , despite the German being a long-term target of the Catalans. Kimmich looks like he will leave Bayern after 9 years this summer, but Barca does not have enough money to recruit him.

 

Kimmich is still negotiating with Bayern about a new contract, as the German international’s current deal runs until 2025. However, he could look for another opportunity this summer with the desire to try something different at 29 years old.

 

 

Kimmich can only go to Barca when his contract expires.Last week it was reported that Kimmich did not believe the Blaugrana had enough money to sign him this summer and it seems the midfielder was right. The source said that Barcelona informed Kimmich that they can only recruit him for free in 2025 , when the Gray Tigers player’s contract expires. Although Bayern’s request is unknown, it is expected to exceed €60 million.

Kimmich is in a similar situation to Alphonso Davies, who has been linked with Real Madrid . The likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Manchester City are all said to have shown an interest in Kimmich.
