On the morning of August 15, Real Madrid defeated Atalanta 2-0 to win the 2024 European Super Cup for the 6th time in history.

In contrast to the forecasts of the Spanish media, which anticipated the retention of the same starting lineup for the Champions League final, coach Carlo Ancelotti opted to include Kylian Mbappe in the starting lineup. Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo, both from Brazil, were also present beside him.
