On the evening of August 17, Liverpool defeated newcomer Ipswich Town 2-0 in round 1 of the English Premier League.

The match between Liverpool and Ipswich Town, although not really balanced, attracted a lot of attention. Fans are very interested to see how Liverpool will look this season after the departure of coach Jurgen Klopp. Especially when Liverpool almost did not participate in the ongoing summer transfer market.

In the past, newly promoted teams often played very well in the first rounds of the Premier League . And that was true for Ipswich Town, when this rookie played confidently and caused Liverpool a lot of trouble in the first half.

The turning point of the match came in the 60th minute. Liverpool had an impressive combination. Mohamed Salah got down to receive the pass and penetrated the penalty area, before crossing for Diogo Jota to score.

After this goal, Liverpool attacked strongly and created many good chances. In contrast, Ipswich Town resisted weakly and no longer caused discomfort for Liverpool players. 

And what was supposed to happen finally happened. In the 65th minute, taking advantage of an unsuccessful block by an Ipswich Town defender, Salah quickly finished, scoring the winning goal 2-0 for Liverpool.

With this victory, Liverpool has created great confidence for fans in this year’s football season. Coach Arne Slot also scored points with an impressive debut.
