In this match, 17-year-old prodigy Lamine Yamal started and he left a strong mark on Barcelona ‘s playing style . In the 6th minute, Lamine Yamal dribbled and shot in the penalty area but the ball hit a Valencia defender’s foot and went out.
Barcelona continued to create chances but their strikers failed to capitalize. In the 44th minute, the home team Valencia unexpectedly opened the score 1-0 thanks to striker Hugo Duro with a close-range header.
If Valencia were luckier, they would have scored another goal in the 45+3 minute, when Hugo Duro shot past goalkeeper Ter Stegen (Barcelona) but center-back Pau Cubarsi was able to retreat and clear the ball right on the goal line.
Just 2 minutes after this “survival” situation, Barcelona equalized 1-1. From a cross from his teammate on the left wing, Lamine Yamal rushed in to finish but missed the target, accidentally becoming a pass for Lewandowski to tap the ball into the net of goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili (Valencia).
In the 49th minute, Barcelona took the lead 2-1 thanks to Lewandowski from the 11m mark, after Raphinha was brought down by a Valencia defender in the penalty area. This was also the final score of the match. Although both teams had chances in the remaining minutes, they failed to take advantage.
With 3 points, Barcelona is temporarily leading the La Liga rankings. Early tomorrow morning, August 19 (Vietnam time), Real Madrid will play away against Mallorca. The most notable star in this match is Mbappe with his first debut in La Liga.
