Barcelona plans to recruit Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure

Earlier this week, Bruno Alemany of Cadena SER said that he thought Barcelona would choose Everton player Abdoulaye Doucoure. Mane told the Catalan club that they should sign the Mali player from Everton next year.

Doucoure’s Good Numbers Here at Goodison Park

The season is going well for Doucoure at Everton, and he has put in a few great performances in the closing third. When it comes to all areas of the game, the Mali star has scored four goals and set up one in 15 matches for Everton this season.

This 30-year-old has been a steady player in the other team’s half, as shown by the fact that he makes 1.5 tackles, 0.7 interceptions, 0.6 clearances, 1.7 shots, 1.3 key passes, and 1.2 dribbles per Premier League game. He was so good at passing the ball that he made 82.3% of the passes he tried in the English first division (numbers from who scored).

The summer of 2025 is the end of his current deal at Goodison Park. But Everton has been having money problems lately, so they might sell Doucoure in January or at the end of the season.

Is it time for Everton manager Sean Dyche to let Doucoure go?

Doucoure is good at tackling the ball and knows when to try to get the ball back for his team. He works hard on defense for his team and can run with the ball very well.

The Mali player can hit the ball very hard from far away and has the vision to set up a few good chances for his teammates in the final third. He plays as a box-to-box midfielder most of the time, but if his boss tells him to, he can also play as an attacking or defensive midfielder.

Doucoure has played a lot of games in the Premier League and has become a fan favorite at Goodison Park.  He is still one of the most important players on Everton head coach Sean Dyche’s team for games.

You never know, Doucoure might still be able to play his best after 30 years. But Everton’s recent bad luck means they might have to let the talented Mali player go next year and bring up some of their young players in the following seasons.
