Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has confirmed that he has signed with sportswear giants Nike.
It is the biggest deal of the teenager’s career to date. Having played a key part in England’s run to the European Championship final earlier this summer, as well as scoring in United’s FA Cup final victory over Manchester City, Mainoo has been spending time on other ventures
He showed images of penning his contract with Nike under the words ‘Welcome Kobbie’.
Mainoo also posed in the centre of a pitch with the Nike tick logo and ‘LA’ written underneath as a promotion for this huge deal. He has also been snapped whilst walking around the headquarters.
Although Mainoo is not donning Nike gear in every image, he is now set to show off the global giants. United, meanwhile, are currently sponsored by Nike’s rivals, Adidas, who manufacture their kits.
Mainoo has shown off Nike before, appearing at a photo shoot in June to kickstart the partnership. ”[It’s] a dream come true,” he said at the time. ”To finally sign with them is great.” Now he has made the collaboration official.
United themselves will also be hopeful of giving Mainoo a brand new contract. Despite having only inked a three-year contract in February as a reward for his rapid elevation in the global game and his breakthrough into the starting lineup in December 2023, he has the opportunity to solidify his rise once more.
