‘STOP IT MY BROTHER’: Darwin Núñez and Luis Díaz are in awe of teammate Trey Nyoni’s exquisite skill

Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz were astounded by their teammates as they participated in a series of technical tests alongside Kieran Morrison and Trey Nyoni, two young players from Liverpool.

Nyoni, who turned 17 at the end of June, is ready to take the pitch regularly for Arne Slot’s first team, while 17-year-old Morrison is also expected to do well.Along with Nunez, Diaz, and Julian Alvarez, the pair participated in a series of challenges during a photo session for the adidas Football Clinic. In one of those, players had to strike the crossbar and both posts as quickly as they could in ten attempts from the edge of the area.

Despite Liverpool’s number nine becoming well-known for hitting the woodwork the previous season, Diaz was unable to score, whereas Alvarez and Nunez both did so in 10!Nyoni stepped up, hitting the bar with his third attempt, the post with his fourth, and the post with his first.”What a ploy, my brother, stop it!”....

.

Nunez and Diaz rejoiced with the midfield player while Diaz yelled. “He’s succeeded!”Morrison’s performance was even more impressive as he struck the post on his first try, the bar on his second, the top-corner stanchion on his third and the post once more on his fourth attempt. The Northern Irishman was lauded by Diaz, who said, “Bro, you have more technical ability than us, no?”Morrison hasn’t advanced as far as Nyoni yet, but this season, as the team takes a patient approach, he will be added to Liverpool’s U21 squad permanently.

It would be no surprise to see the attacking midfielder involved in first-team training in the near future, though, having already worked under Slot at the start of pre-season.

Nyoni and Morrison had a conversation on player development with Diaz, Nunez, and Alvarez during their interview for the adidas Football Clinic film.

When asked what guidance he would give his younger self, Nunez said, “Be the last person to leave and arrive on time.”

“And to always take the coach, players, and captain’s counsel to heart.

“As for me, I had to train with the first team when I was seventeen, and the fact is that I had very little discipline. However, the team provided excellent role models for me and the staff.

“My advice is to always set a good example and give your all in order to be able to play for the first team.”
