Prepared to use Victor Osimhen as a makeweight, talkSPORT knows, Napoli are fervently seeking to capture Romelu Lukaku.

After making Lukaku available for transfer, Chelsea wants rid of him but are yet to locate a team ready to match their £37 million asking price.

The Belgian most piques Napoli’s curiosity; he may be reunited with former coach Antonio Conte.

Conte has made Inter Milan his top aim but it will rely on whether or not Osimhen leaves the team. The two guided Inter Milan achieve Serie A victory in 2021.

And although the Nigerian international has reached personal terms with Paris Saint-Germain, Napoli is ready to make use of the striker in negotiations for Lukaku.Napoli are eager to sign Lukaku right away and are willing to talk about a deal whereby Osimhen would go the opposite way.

Although Chelsea is looking for a striker, they had not shown any interest in paying Osimhen’s release clause, which supposedly comes at £110m.

Napoli’s stance seems to have changed, though, and including Lukaku into the negotiations might drastically lower the cost.

In terms of landing a quality striker and losing Lukaku, who is earning £325,000 a week, even if no fee has yet to be negotiated would definitely help Chelsea kill two birds with one stone.One kink in the works, though, is if Osimhen wants to relocate to Stamford Bridge after already agreeing personal terms with PSG where he might replace Kylian Mbappe as the primary man after the latter’s move to Real Madrid.

The Nigerian has hinted he would be eager for a trade and has past been connected with a Chelsea transfer.

With 26 goals in 32 league games, Osimhen guided Napoli achieve Serie A title in 2023.

Though he had a more difficult campaign last season, the 25-year-old still scored 17 goals in all games with the Blues eager to strengthen their assault.

But without Champions League football, Chelsea could not be as appealing as PSG, who dreams of tournament glory.
