Journalist Fabrizio Romano told Caught Offside that Chelsea could add two new players this summer
Despite bringing in 10 summer signings, the Blues have no intention of stopping. One position they need to upgrade is the striker.
Enzo Maresca has plenty of options to play as a number 9, but an effective goalscorer is a luxury.
Chelsea are still in talks to sign Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, with the Nigerian wanting to leave. However, the deal has yet to progress.
Chelsea could welcome two new recruits.
As a result, the Blues could turn to Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran. Romano told Caught Offside: “Keep an eye on the striker situation, as another player Chelsea are still interested in is Jhon Duran.”
Notably, despite signing Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer and Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors, Romano believes another centre-back could arrive at Chelsea in the final days of the transfer window.
“And then there’s a potential last-minute centre-back. Not certain, not guaranteed, but they’re talking ,” Romano added.
The Italian journalist did not name any names, but with Axel Disasi emerging as a target for Newcastle United, it is reasonable to assume that Maresca is eyeing a potential replacement for the 26-year-old Frenchman.
