FIRST DAY: Federico Chiesa beams as he completed Liverpool deal and kiss girlfriend in the photoshoot at AXA Training Centre

Federico Chiesa became a Liverpool player

The Italy forward has signed a long-term contract with the Reds after an agreement for his transfer was reached with Juventus.

Chiesa, who will wear the No. 14 shirt, had a satisfactory physical, took pictures at his new job, and then had his first interview with Liverpool.

Liverpool will pay Juventus a £10 million fixed fee as well as a further £2.5 million if Arne Slot’s team wins the Premier League and Champions League, according to the rules of the agreement.

Chiesa said after joining Liverpool: “I’m very happy to be a Liverpool player. When Richard Hughes called me and said, ‘Do you want to join Liverpool?’, I said yes immediately because I know the history of this club. So I’m very happy and looking forward to starting here.”

Chiesa’s contract with Liverpool will last for four years. Chiesa, who has 51 caps for Italy and was part of the squad that won EURO 2020, promises to bring a fresh look to the ‘Reds’ attack. Last season, the striker scored 10 goals in 37 appearances for Juventus.
