In a lighthearted gesture, Cristiano Ronaldo apologized to Gianluigi Buffon for his memorable bicycle kick goal that helped Real Madrid defeat Juventus in 2018.

On Thursday, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gianluigi Buffon were in Monaco for the first-ever Champions League league draw.

When the conversation of Ronaldo’s incredible strike came up during the draw’s coverage, the Portuguese star apologized to Buffon and grinned.

In the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals in Turin, Ronaldo scored past a stranded Buffon.

Real Madrid lost the second leg 3-1, but they prevailed 3-0 in Italy to advance 4-3 on the scoreboard overall.
