Man Utd football star Mason Mount has visited a children’s hospice in Surrey to put a smile on small faces.
The midfield player first revealed himself as a Together for Short Lives patron back in
On his first visit to a hospice since becoming a patron, Mount enjoyed a special football-themed afternoon with very sick children and their families at Christopher’s Children’s Hospice in Guildford.
He said: ” I am really passionate about highlighting the lifeline support Together for Short Lives and children’s hospices like Shooting Star Children’s Hospices give to seriously ill children and their families so that every family that needs it can access lifeline care.
“It was great to meet the children today and see for myself that children’s hospices are places of warmth, joy and laughter.”
A UK charity called Together for Short Lives works to make the most of the time that critically ill children and their families spend together.
The organization raises money and awareness for the 54 children’s hospices in the UK, including Christopher’s, which is a part of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
Andy Fletcher, CEO for Together for Short Lives, said: “We are so pleased that Mason was able to meet some of the amazing children and families we support and see first-hand the vital care children’s hospices provide.
“His dedication to raising awareness, so that more families caring for a seriously ill child can access the help they need to make the most of their time together, is invaluable.”
