Yamal cemented his reputation as one of the world’s best young players with his performances at EURO 2024, helping Spain go as far as they could and ultimately win the tournament.

The 17-year-old has made over 50 appearances for Barcelona and is expected to have a memorable career.

And fans of one Premier League side were left a little excited after hearing about his dream teammate.

When asked by Spanish radio station Radioestadio Noche, Yamal replied: “Kevin De Bruyne”.

De Bruyne, widely regarded by fans around the world as the best midfielder of his generation, is entering the twilight of his career with Man City.

He won every trophy with the Citizens while appearing in the FIFA FIFPRO World XI four times.

Man City fans took to social media after hearing the Barcelona prodigy’s comments, imagining Yamal and De Bruyne supporting hitman Erling Haaland.

De Bruyne has been linked with a move away from the Etihad in the summer with Saudi clubs said to be monitoring the situation.

However, he stayed and Man City started their season with three wins from three games.

Yamal and Barcelona have made a fine start to the new campaign, winning all four of their La Liga games.
