Jonathan Tah’s proposed transfer to Bayern Munich fell through last summer, and the 28-year-old has announced he will not renew his contract with Leverkusen, which ends in 2025. This allows him to negotiate with other clubs starting January 2025.

 

Tah has stated his intention to stay committed to Leverkusen until his contract ends, saying, “I will remain dedicated to Leverkusen until 2025 and will give my best for the team. I am looking forward to exploring new opportunities this summer, particularly after a successful season.”

Spanish outlet SPORT reports that Barcelona is currently leading the race for Tah. With backing from manager Hansi Flick, Barcelona is ahead of Bayern Munich, which failed to secure an agreement with Leverkusen despite reaching a personal deal with Tah.

 

However, Barcelona will face competition from the Premier League. Manchester United, along with Liverpool, Tottenham, and Chelsea, are all keen to add Tah to their defensive lineup.

Tah had a standout season with Leverkusen, helping the team win the league and finish unbeaten. He recorded 21 clean sheets across all competitions and scored six goals, which earned him a place in the German national team for the Euros, where he played in four matches.
