A week after competing against the Netherlands in the Nations League, the 24-year-old can be seen serving bowlfuls of food to a group of waiting young people in a video uploaded to TikTok. 


After falling to Italy 2-3 in the third-place play-off match, Gakpo’s team was able to secure fourth place in the competition.


According to ESPN, Gakpo’s decision over where to go after the season is influenced by his desire to return to Tošo, with the player reportedly looking into the potential of starting a commercial initiative there. 


Gakpo has strong ties to his Togolese mother Teresa and his family, who are still based in the west African nation. However, even after being approached by Togo’s football association four years ago to switch to international leagues, the former PSV player remained unwavering in his decision to play for the Dutch national team, where he has been featured since the U18 level.
